Nothing says it’s Fall like pumpkin spice lattes, chunky scarves, crisp air, and a sultry, dark red lip. A dark red lipstick can really make a statement on a confident woman and it gets me super excited to finally be able to pull out these beauties to wear them all the time.
These are the top 5 favorite lip combos I’ll be sporting this season…
Pixi Shea Butter lip balm in Honey Nectar
This is a very subtle, but pretty nude lipstick. This is my go-to if I don’t want to look too glammed up, but want a little sheen to my lip.
NYX Lip Butter in Snow Cap
Again, this is a gorgeous nude lipstick that has a matte finish. I’m loving a nice matte lip this season. I usually pair this color when I have a more dolled up eye and don’t want the attention strayed to my lips. This is also fairly inexpensive at just $3.99.
MAC Viva Glam III
Holy Moly. This is becoming a regular everyday lipstick for me. It is perfect atop a great lip liner like MAC Fashion Boost. It is a shimmery dark nude with a mauve tint to it. It is absolutely beautiful.
MAC Viva Glam V
This is my absolute favorite lip stick for a romantic evening look. If Kelly and I have special dinner plans or I’m on my way to Happy Hour, I will put this baby on. I pair it over MAC Pink Treat lip liner and it is sure to last all night. It is a gorgeous dark red matte lip look and is so beautiful.
Kelly put this color in my stocking last year and, if you can’t tell, I wear it all the time. It probably won’t last me past the end of this year! Whoops! Anyway, this is a great rosy pink that is my go-to look for work everyday. It makes a subtle statement but adds that extra pop of color to my makeup look that makes me look even brighter and more vibrant. Syrup is officially a staple of mine and as soon as I run out of this one, I will surely be restocking on the fabulous color.
MAC Fashion Boost & MAC Pink Treat
I wanted to show you the two lip liners that I seem to be reaching for more frequently this month. On the left is MAC Fashion Boost that I typically wear under Viva Glam III. It is a bit of a bright pink for the Fall, but with Viva Glam III being a darker nude, the two balance each other out perfectly. On the right is MAC Pink Treat. This is a great dark red that I typically wear under my MAC Viva Glam V and MAC Syrup. It really gives each of the colors that extra pop for a fabulous lip.
It’s rare for me to wear a lipstick without a lip liner. I find that when I wear lip liner, my lipstick lasts even longer than without and just is more sassy than if I didn’t.
I also want to point out how important it is to moisturize you lips any time you can, especially in these dryer months. It hasn’t exactly cooled off here in Texas yet, but moisturizing helps prevent chapped lips and helps your lipstick apply evenly.
What lip colors are you sporting this Fall??
